Dear Skills and Drills Participants,
Coach English here with a little history about my hockey background and how I got started! Influenced by my two older cousins who played hockey, I started playing when I was 4 years old in Glenview, IL. which is next to my hometown of Northbrook. I played youth hockey in Glenview and Northbrook until 8th grade when I played for the Chicago Chill AAA Club and Team Illinois AAA for the next two years. After my freshman year of HS, I played for Glenbrook North HS for the rest of my HS career. During my time at GBN, we lost in the state semifinals twice! While they were heartbreaking at the time, I feel very fortunate to have played with some of my best friends and incredible teammates. As a youth hockey player, I really looked forward to the Northbrook Youth Hockey Camp every summer! It was always a lot of fun because I got to see my friends, and I also knew that it would be a great opportunity for me to improve my skills and get ready for the next season. My coaches made sure that we worked as hard as we could in every drill so that we would be ready for the "big game" at the end of camp each day. Knowing how much I enjoyed my youth hockey camps when I was kid, I can't wait to share my passion for the game with all of you this summer! I know we are going to work hard and have a lot of FUN!
Sincerely,
Coach English
