"Summer Skills and Drills began while I was coaching high school hockey in Beloit in 1995. To help with the development of youth hockey players to compete in the best high school hockey conference in the state, I began offering stickhandling and shooting sessions for local youth hockey players at Telfer Park Pavilion. We met for five weeks in the mornings with the goal of reinforcing these skills without interfering with other sports like baseball which are traditionally played in the evenings. When ice became available at the Janesville Ice Arena, Summer Skills and Drills moved indoors, and the rest is history."
